Responsibilities

Front Desk Receptionist job responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that the coding is compliant with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, CMS guidelines, etc.).
  • Perform quality checks and edits for accurate coding before submission to insurance companies.
  • Denial Management: If claims are denied, they are reviewed, corrected, and resubmitted as necessary.
  • Tracking AR: AR management involves monitoring unpaid claims, following up on overdue payments, and ensuring accurate documentation for timely collections.
  • AR Aging Report: A key report that categorizes outstanding balances by the length of time they’ve been due (e.g., 0-30 days, 31-60 days, etc.).
  • Provide assistance to patients and insurance companies by addressing questions about billing, payment, and claims.
