Responsibilities

  • Manage claims throughout the revenue cycle, from submission to payment.
  • Post insurance and patient payments accurately.
  • Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable and resolve claim denials.
  • Review and audit patient accounts for billing accuracy.
  • Answer patient billing questions and explain insurance benefits.
  • Process electronic and paper claims.
  • Communicate professionally with insurance carriers, patients, and team members.
  • Maintain accurate records while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Collaborate with staff to resolve billing issues and improve workflows.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or a healthcare office is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance, claims processing, and payment posting.
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) 
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Optometry or ophthalmology experience is a plus but not required.
