Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with contact lens selection, fitting, and training.
Educate patients on proper contact lens care, handling, and hygiene.

Responsibilities

Minimum 1–2 years of prior experience in an optical setting, either private practice, retail, or clinical
Proficient in interpreting and applying optical prescriptions
Strong knowledge of lens types, coatings, materials, and frame adjustments
Familiarity with vision insurance plans (e.g., VSP, Eyemed, Spectera)
Skilled in performing accurate optical measurements (e.g., PD, seg height, frame fitting)

Responsibilities
Assist optometrists with patient care during eye exams, including preparing patients and performing preliminary tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and refraction.
Take medical histories and document patient information accurately in the system.
Perform diagnostic testing (e.g., OCT, corneal topography, retinal imaging) and assist with other in-office procedures.
Scribe opportunities available: Assist the optometrist by documenting exam findings, procedures, and patient discussions in real time during the exam.
Educate patients on eye health, glasses, contact lenses, and other related products or services.
Assist patients with contact lens fitting and provide instructions on proper care and maintenance.

Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or in a clinical setting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of optometric testing, equipment, and procedures.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain medical information clearly to patients.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy when documenting patient information.
Ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable with computer systems for managing patient records and scheduling.
Scribe experience or interest in learning to scribe is a plus.
