Responsibilities

  • Process medical and vision insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner
  • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients
  • Review medical records to determine appropriate coding for billing purposes
  • Handle denials and appeals related to medical insurance claims
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to gather necessary documentation for billing
  • Stay informed about changes in medical billing regulations and coding guidelines
  • Maintain patient billing records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Provide support and assistance to patients with billing inquiries and insurance-related issues

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in medical billing, preferably in an optometry or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical billing software and electronic health records systems
  • Proficiency in medical coding, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
  • Familiarity with insurance verification and authorization processes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

Specialty Eyecare Group works Monday-Friday
We enjoy a work/life balance which means our work weeks are about 36+ per week.  
Pay=DOE

This position is a in-person only and must be willing to be in either Bellevue or Kirkland on any given day.
