Optometric Technician essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Customer reception and service.
- Maintain patient records, schedule appointments, collect payments and filing.
- Obtain Insurance information and authorization, including referrals.
- Facilitate Insurance and patient billing and collection.
- Prepares patient for vision examination and assist with testing and documentation.
- Instruct patient in care and use of contact lenses.
- Order contact lenses for individual patients.
- Maintain contact lens and medical product inventory.
- Promote contact lens and eye product sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and overall appearance of office.
- Participate in continuing education.
Optometric Technician required skills & qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience in a professional setting a must
- The ability to connect well with patients
- Works well with a team
- Tech-savvy; typing capabilities
- Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
- Optometric Technician experience preferred
