Responsibilities
Optometric Technician Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed preliminary medical histories to gather essential patient information and aid in diagnosis.
- Skillfully operate a wide range of advanced diagnostic equipment, including Auto-Refraction, fundus photography, OCT, corneal Topography, Meibography, Visual Field testing, Diopsys, Lipiflow, iLux, BlephEx, and more, ensuring precise testing for optimal patient care.
- Prepare exam rooms and all necessary equipment to support seamless clinic flow and maximize efficiency.
- Assist in direct patient care, offering expert contact lens training, education, and support to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Act as a scribe for the doctor during examinations, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation of clinical findings.
- Provide front desk assistance as needed, including checking patients in and out, processing payments, scheduling follow-up appointments, and handling recalls during quieter times.
Skills & Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a medical or optical environment is a plus, but we provide comprehensive on-the-job training to help you succeed.
- A natural connector who truly enjoys building rapport with patients and making them feel comfortable.
- A self-starter with great initiative, ready to take on responsibilities and support the team proactively.
- A collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- Tech-savvy with solid typing and computer skills.
- Medical experience is advantageous, but not necessary.
