Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and guide them through frame selection to ensure a positive, supportive eyewear experience.
  • Help patients choose frames and lenses that match their prescription, style, and lifestyle needs.
  • Assist with eyewear styling, optical sales, and educating patients on lens options and upgrades.
  • Recommend products such as blue‑light protection, anti‑reflective coatings, and progressive lenses.
  • Take accurate optical measurements (PD, segment height) and perform frame adjustments for proper fit.
  • Complete minor eyewear repairs and ensure glasses are comfortable and aligned.
  • Enter and track eyewear orders, keeping patients informed on timelines.
  • Support inventory management and maintain an organized, visually appealing optical display.
  • Collaborate with the optometrist and team to support smooth patient flow.
  • Contribute to a positive, team‑oriented environment focused on great patient care.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Previous experience in optical, optician, or retail customer service settings is helpful.
  • Strong interest in eyewear, fashion, and helping patients choose frames and lenses.
  • Comfortable taking optical measurements and learning basic eyewear adjustments.
  • Detail‑oriented with the ability to multitask in a patient‑focused environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Team‑oriented mindset with a positive, professional attitude.

  • Perform clerical tasks such as faxing, making phone calls, and writing referral letters.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; medical assistant designation or medical scribe certification helpful but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willing to learn medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to type accurately in dimly-lit settings.
  • Willing to learn eye anatomy, diseases, and ocular medications.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
