The Billing & Practice Operations Manager is a hands-on role at the center of how our practice runs. You’ll own the insurance and billing function and keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. This is a great fit for someone who brings strong medical billing expertise and genuinely enjoys contributing to a close-knit team.


This is a part-time role, 20 – 30 hours/week, including Saturdays, starting at $20/hr.


We value team members who bring accuracy, initiative, and strong insurance knowledge to our practice.

Responsibilities

Insurance & Billing 

•       Submit and manage medical claims

•       Coordinate with our insurance billing service to verify eligibility and communicate benefits to the front desk staff

•       Review and resolve claim denials in a timely manner

•       Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances


Operations & Administration

•       Oversee day-to-day office operations, patient flow, and scheduling

•       Foster a positive team environment and keep staff coordinated 

•       Address technology-related concerns and support electronic medical record (EMR) system administration

•       Proactively identify operational gaps and drive improvements from start to finish

Skills & Qualifications

Must Have

•       Experience in medical billing, coding, and collections

•       Experience with EMR systems

•       Background in a medical office setting; eye care experience preferred

•       Demonstrated ability to support staff in an office environment

•       Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

•       Comfortable multitasking across billing, administrative, and operational priorities


Nice to Have

•       Familiarity with vision insurance plans (EyeMed, Spectera, VSP, etc.)

•       Experience wearing or fitting contact lenses, or willingness to complete contact lens training

•       Comfortable with social media platforms for basic practice marketing support
