Responsibilities For a Lab Technician

  • Set up, operate, or tend machines cutting high-end reader glass according to order specifications
  • Insertion into eyeglass frames
  • Frame styling, dispensing, adjustments
  • Submit online lab orders
  • Eyewear repair and adjustments

Lab Technician Skills & Qualifications
  • Lensometry knowledge
  • Knowledge of progressive lens designs and individual attributes
  • Knowledge of occupational progressive designs and dynamic power calculations
  • Fine motor skills; mechanical skills; lathe and CNC experience
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment
  • Ability to work as a part of a team and have the ability to work in a high paced environment
  • Prior experience as a Lab Technician or Optometric experience a plus
  • Knowledgeable with lensometer
  • Prefer experience with Microsoft Office Suite software programs and other clinic-specific software
